The South and Southern History

by Clyde Wilson

Dr. Wilson is professor of history at the University of South Carolina, editor of The Papers of John C. Calhoun, and a member of the Board of the League of the South. On 9 July 2001, he published a paper in which he recommended a variety of books for the serious Southern scholar. The length of his essay required that we divide it for a more speedy on-line access.
