CHAPTER MEETINGS
The Tennessee League of the South promotes the formation of local chapters. Local issues arise which are best addressed by the citizens of that community. Local chapters form with six to twelve members and grow from there. Those chapters with regular meetings are posted on this website.
EVENTS
STATE CONFERENCE - Our annual Tennessee League of the South conference was in Nashville with keynote speak Ray McBerry, who is currently running on a States Rights platform in the Republican primary for Governor of Georgia. For report, click here.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
The Tennessee League of the South joins with its sister state organizations for an annual conference. The 17th Annual National Conference will be held 8-9 October 2010 at the Airport Hilton, Atlanta, Georgia. (Announced 1 April, details will be available soon.)
HEDGE SCHOOLS
Plans are being formulate for as yet unannounced Hedge Schools. Possible topics include: Jesse James: An Unreconstructed Southerner; An American Tradition--A Southern Practice; Resisting Tyrants & Fighting Tyranny; Championing the Underdog; and Declaring Independence.
NON-LEAGUE EVENTS
The Tennessee League of the South supports a number of events, seminars, and institutes which we do not specifically sponsor. Please take advantage of every one possible.
FORREST HOMECOMING
The Eighth Annual fundraiser for the Nathan Bedford Forrest Boyhood Home near Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Saturday, 19 June 2010. More info here
ABBEVILLE INSTITUTE
The Abbeville Institute is an association of scholars in higher education devoted to a critical study of what is true and valuable in the Southern tradition. The Institute conducts seminars and conferences for college and graduate students, and guides research and publication on all aspects of the Southern tradition.
The next Summer School, "The Greatness of Southern Literature" will be held 25-30 July 2010. More info here
