Fighting for Biblical Principles

It is so easy to be caught up in the day-to-day grind of living and making a living that many never look up and look around themselves to see the larger influences on their lives. The old saying that “it is easy to lose sight of the forest because of the trees” is so true. The immediate and the urgent dominate our thoughts and our attention.

We need to take time to consider that our little worlds are greatly affected by the greatness of the world around us.

When I moved from the metropolitan area of Nashville out to a small rural acreage, I named my homestead, Solitude. Living in a small cabin in the woods is refreshing. Every morning I am confronted with the height of the trees. Every evening I am dwarfed by the magnitude of the heavens. Every star shines brightly.

As I move among the trees and under the stars, I am reminded of the majesty of our Creator. I am also reminded that every breath is at His pleasing. Every word and every action needs to be for His glory.

I desire the safety of my family and friends. I want to know that the huge concepts of justice and liberty will be secure for my grandchildren and for yours as well. We owe a great debt to our ancestors for having fought for biblical principles of government.

But each generation must learn what principles must be preserved. Each generation must prepare themselves to fight for justice and liberty, so that we can provide the blessings of liberty to our posterity.

I speak and work for a Tennessee Nation for that reason. How about you?

Independence and Survival

Could Tennessee actually declare its independence as a nation and survive? The answer must be a resounding, YES!

A rule of politics, “Even the biggest lie, if told often enough, and with conviction, will become the accepted truth.” One does not have to experience many election cycles to recognize the validity of this rule. Politicians are so adept at this that some of their “truths” have become part of our conversations. Remember “no new taxes” or “it depends what your definition of ‘is’ is”?

Most Tennesseans cannot wrap their minds around the concept of this state as an independent nation. The idea that we are and we must be a part of a huge Empire, such as the United States, has been engrained in us from our earliest years. We have been taught to mindlessly recite “one nation under God, indivisible” until the concept has been cemented in our psyche. It is a lie, penned by the socialist author of the pledge of allegiance.

Here is the truth, taking from respected websites – If Tennessee were an independent nation, it would rank 107th in population of over two hundred countries in the world. We have a greater population than the United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Norway, and Ireland.

If Tennessee were an independent nation, it would rank 114th in land area. We have a greater land area than the United Arab Emirates and Denmark, as well as Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Ireland.

But most importantly, if Tennessee were an independent nation, it would rank 19th in per capita Gross Domestic Product (GPD). This figure is not about how many people inhabit how much land; this is about personal wealth in a world market. We are ahead of not only the United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden, but Tennessee also has a per capita GDP higher than Canada, Australia, France, Greece, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.

There is not a single one of the countries listed above which we would consider denying their sovereignty because they just aren’t big enough!

Tennessee can stand on its own, because Tennesseans stand on their own.

Give me a Free Tennessee!

The Idea Will Become Reality

There are in these days many different reactions to the idea of Southern States becoming free and independent of the Columbian Empire.

  • Some speak condescendingly, expecting to meet someone not in full grasp of their faculties.
  • Some speak disparagingly, supposing some vicious ulterior motive in the effort.
  • Some speak ruefully, believing that patriotism can only be directed to the United States rather than a locale.

But some ask questions; some seek answers; some want to know what a taste of real liberty is all about.

During the War for Southern Independence (1861-1865), an Englishman toured the South and gave us an interesting “outsiders” perspective of the South and the War. In the Preface to THREE MONTHS IN THE SOUTHERN STATES, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Arthur James Lyon Fremantle, 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards, wrote,

'I have not attempted to conceal any of the peculiarities or defects
of the Southern people. Many persons will doubtless highly disapprove of
some of their customs and habits in the wilder portion of the country; but
I think no generous man, whatever may be his political opinions, can do
otherwise than admire the courage, energy, and patriotism of the whole
population, and the skill of its leaders, in this struggle against great
odds. And I am also of the opinion that many will agree with me in
thinking that a people in which all ranks and both sexes display a
unanimity and a heroism which can never have been surpassed in the history
of the world, is destined, SOONER OR LATER, to become A GREAT AND
INDEPENDENT NATION.'

Yes, sooner or later, Tennesseans will have their own independent nation. The idea has lain dormant, but the seed is germinating and the idea will become reality.
