Ichabod

I am just getting warm and fuzzy all over.  On Friday the 13th (is there some irony in that?), Emperor Obama “weighed in forcefully” in support of religious freedom in America.  He feels that the building of a “worship and community center” within the shadow of the collapsed World Trade Center towers is simply a matter of staying “true to our core values.”

At a White House observation of the beginning of Ramadan, he told a group of Muslims that he believes “That Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country.”

I am a firm supporter of property rights.  The use of regulatory authority to limit what an owner does with their property it tantamount to theft.  So, I can't object to the building of a mosque.

But here’s my problem.  My problem is with the nature of the Emperor’s magnanimous support.  Obama called the mosque a “worship and community center.”  That is a benign terminology of the real purpose of the build-out.  Somehow the picture of seniors exercising to water ballet just doesn’t fit my concept of “Muslim community.”  The community that has been built in too many mosques has involved high explosives.  Not a good thing.

Then there is the Emperor’s assertion of “as everyone else in this country.”  Who is the “everyone else?”  It can’t be Christians.  Christians have been watching their symbols and prayers and even themselves be shut out of event after event and community after community across the empire!  When I was invited to offer prayer to begin a session of the U.S. House of Representatives, I was politely told that I should not pray in “Jesus’ name” because it might offend someone and thus be in bad taste.  (I did it anyway!)

The un-reverend Rick “purpose-driven-church” Warren did mention Jesus in his invocation at the Obama inauguration, but then Rick included Jesus as one in a whole list of false and demonic gods.  Good going, Rick!

In the Old Testament, there is the story of such corruption in the priesthood that a priest’s wife gives birth and then dies.  Her last words are the naming of her son, Ichabod – “the glory has departed.”  We have to come to grips with this fact … the glory has departed America.  We cannot ask, “God bless America,” because God has never made a habit of blessing what has already been cursed.

America is gone.  It is being ruled by the most corrupt of overlords.  Our only hope is to break away and become a free and independent Tennessee nation.

A Hymn for Cursing

This next Sunday, the 4th of July, in churches across the states congregations will be led in singing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”  The song has a catchy chorus, but it is a malicious and anti-Christian.  It has no place in a true house of worship.

You can read a complete explanation of the problems with the “Battle Hymn” here.

There are some who think that I over-react to the use of the song.  Many pastors will hear or read the truth about the “hymn” and belittle the truth about it.  It is simply blasphemy against the truths of the Christian faith.

While waiting for the worship service to begin yesterday morning, I read from Malachi:

“And now, O priests, this commandment is for you.
If you will not hear,
And if you will not take it to heart,
To give glory to My name,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“I will send a curse upon you,
And I will curse your blessings.
Yes, I have cursed them already,
Because you do not take it to heart.”  (2:1,2)

We who wish to live peacefully in a Free Tennessee should not think that we have the luxury of offending the Lord of Hosts.  His promise of turning our blessings to curses is not the kind of promise any of us wants to see fulfilled.

Unconstitutional Prayer

On Thursday, 15 April, a Wisconsin U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb, issued an opinion that the law which requires the President to declare a National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional.

Judge Babs wrote that the National Day of Prayer "goes beyond mere 'acknowledgment' of religion because its sole purpose is to encourage all citizens to engage in prayer, an inherently religious exercise that serves no secular function…In this instance, the government has taken sides on a matter that must be left to individual conscience. . .”

I find it interesting (almost humorous) that this opinion was issued on the same day that all within the Empire are expected to bow and “render unto Caesar” the firstfruits of their labour.

The Scripture asks, “Why do the heathen rage?” Standing and shouting into the face of God that He is irrelevant in any “secular function” is an extreme exercise in futility.  When the leadership of a nation denies the Creator, why should we expect His blessing on any of our enterprise?

In yesterday’s worship, the congregation of which I am a member sang the three hundred year old hymn, “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty.” The second verse reads:

Praise to the Lord, who over all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires ever have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?

It amazes me that so many cannot see the hand of God in the blessings bestowed upon these united States over the years.  But the general blessing has ceased, there only remains specific blessing for His people. Of the seven verses of the hymn, our hymnal prints only five, omitting the fifth and sixth. I would enjoy singing the sixth verse.

Praise to the Lord, who, when darkness of sin is abounding,
Who, when the godless do triumph, all virtue confounding,
Sheddeth His light, chaseth the horrors of night,
Saints with His mercy surrounding.

We find ourselves with a President who will recognize Moslem holidays, but refuse to issue a call to prayer to the Creator. And Judges back him up. And legislators regularly ignor wisdom and Biblical Law. The Empire is dead.

May Tennesseans affirm their faith in the words of the fourth verse.

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
If with His love He befriend thee.

May God save Tennessee and grant us a free Tennessee Nation.

It Don't Play in Dixie

The South is composed of a distinctly Christian people and is a unique nation. Many Southerners struggle with being identified as different. They have a resistance to the concept, but being different is something to be embraced.

Like others of our attitudes and prejudices, the resistance to being different has been learned – it is not a genetic characteristic. The media and especially advertizers saturate the media with enticements to be “just like Mike” if we buy the right shoes. Advertizing firms pay big bucks to celebrities for endorsements so the ad execs can proclaim that we are “just like ….” if we but buy their designated product.

Sadly, many Southerners have little pride in being Southern because they want to be like every other part of the Empire. Uniquenesses of language and accent are discouraged in schools. Everyone wants to be able to talk like the latest star broadcaster. But in spite of the best efforts of the conformists, the South continues to maintain its own identity.

There continues to be one thing that keeps rising its head to confound the conformists – Southern Christian faith. The Pew Forum recently published on its website a state by state survey of the Importance of Religion. All thirteen states of the Confederacy (plus Oklahoma and Maryland) rank above the national average. In fact, the South occupies all of the top eleven slots! Tennessee ranks overall at #5 !!

On the other hand, and to be expected, the Yankee states of the North East (including New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine) are consistently in the bottom ten rankings of the survey.

Christianity is the bone and marrow of Southern culture. We are a people distinguished by a legitimate and consistent faith. Emperor Obama may pontificate abroad that America is not a Christian nation, but his experience is Illinois (ranked 28th out of 46). Obama's America is not the America Southerners know and love.

The South is being separated from the Empire by the very nature of the heart and soul of its existence. The Empire’s leadership promotes ideas and values which just don’t “play in Dixie.” And Tennessee is a leader in being different.

Tennessee has what it takes to be its own nation.

Stand Firm in Vision and Faith

What can one person do in the face of unparalleled tyranny? Stand firm in vision and faith. This month marks the twentieth anniversary of the resurgence of liberty in Romania.

Religious freedom was only one element of life that had been severely restricted during the rule of Romania’s Nicolae Ceausescu. Government authorities controlled what was taught and preached in churches. Laslo Tokes was a pastor who stood firm in faithfully preaching God’s Word while criticizing the Ceausescu regime for its oppression and for starving the Romanian people.

Even with the presence of secret police and armed government agents in and around the church, Tokes’ congregation grew. In a last ditch effort to silence Tokes, government agents attempted to exile him to a remote village. On 15 December 1989, as the police moved in, members of his church and members of other churches in Timisoara – Catholic, Orthodox, Baptist, Pentecostal, and Reformed (Hungarian, Romanian and German) – gathered in front of Tokes’ home and stood side by side in solidarity.

From his window, Laslo Tokes spoke to the crowd, “We are one in Christ. We speak different languages, but we have the same Bible and the same God. We are one.” The demonstration moved to the town square, then to other towns.

One week later, (the 22nd) Ceausescu attempted to flee Bucharest, but was captured and secretly tried. Ceausescu was silenced … executed on Christmas day, just ten days after his attempt to have the preaching of Pastor Tokes silenced. Not guns, not politics, not economics, but a quiet pastor and his principled resistance ended one of the most severe communist regimes of Eastern Europe.

When speaking of an independent Tennessee Nation and Southland, I am sometimes challenged with the phrase, “We tried that and lost. Remember Appomattox.” They are thinking only of guns and bullets. People can be fearful of what tactics the enforcers of the Columbian Empire might use against us. But throughout history, when a people (not necessarily a majority) stood for truth, God has done the miraculous and delivered them. (Remember to pray on 3 January.)

Laszlo Tokes is quoted, “The Bible says that when you become a Christian your mind is renewed, and so with that renewing of your mind comes a new view of the world in which you live.”

Look beyond the illusion of power emanating from Washington, DC and see the reality of a people enjoying true justice and real liberty in a Free Tennessee.

Prayer for the South

When writing this blog, I primarily focus on two things: first, how utterly evil and obnoxious our national government has become, and secondly, how we must think and what we must do in order to restore liberty and justice to our communities and families.

The Columbian Empire has already rejected Christ and the Truth of His Word. The Courts, the President, and the Congress have rejected the Author of Liberty. When I was given the opportunity give the opening prayer for the U.S. House of Representatives on 9 September 2004, I was told that I should not use the name of Jesus Christ. I did anyway. The leadership in Washington, DC is worthless – either having rejected the Gospel or having become lukewarm to it.

Fortunately for us Southerners, the Southern National Congress (SNC) during its second session issued a Proclamation for a “Day of Repentance and Prayer for the Southern Nation.” No waffling there. The men and women of the SNC were unanimous in their support for such an event.

Read the Proclamation (click here), share it with your friends, and join together in prayer. Perhaps God will show mercy upon Tennessee and our Southern sister States. Perhaps He will give us our independence, peace, and prosperity.

May God save Tennessee.
