Fighting for Biblical Principles
It is so easy to be caught up in the day-to-day grind of living and making a living that many never look up and look around themselves to see the larger influences on their lives. The old saying that “it is easy to lose sight of the forest because of the trees” is so true. The immediate and the urgent dominate our thoughts and our attention.
We need to take time to consider that our little worlds are greatly affected by the greatness of the world around us.
When I moved from the metropolitan area of Nashville out to a small rural acreage, I named my homestead, Solitude. Living in a small cabin in the woods is refreshing. Every morning I am confronted with the height of the trees. Every evening I am dwarfed by the magnitude of the heavens. Every star shines brightly.
As I move among the trees and under the stars, I am reminded of the majesty of our Creator. I am also reminded that every breath is at His pleasing. Every word and every action needs to be for His glory.
I desire the safety of my family and friends. I want to know that the huge concepts of justice and liberty will be secure for my grandchildren and for yours as well. We owe a great debt to our ancestors for having fought for biblical principles of government.
But each generation must learn what principles must be preserved. Each generation must prepare themselves to fight for justice and liberty, so that we can provide the blessings of liberty to our posterity.
I speak and work for a Tennessee Nation for that reason. How about you?
From Solitude,
David O Jones
